Are 3D gel resin number plates legal?
In their standard form, 3D gel resin number plates are fully legal; the DVLA has specified that it is acceptable to have 3D lettering on number plates. When you purchase standard 3D gel plates from Utopia Plates, they feature the legal writing on the bottom of the plate and additionally follow all DVLA standards for producing number plates.
Are 3D gel resin number plates hard to clean? Can I use a pressure washer on 3D number plates?
The 3D plates produced by Utopia Plates are not hard to clean at all! They can withstand a pressure washer due to the fact they are attached with super-strength 3M adhesive and cleaning them just takes the normal process, a good wash mitt will do a grand job!
Will the letters fall off a set of 3D gel number plates?
We can’t speak for our competitors, but Utopia Plates uses super-strength 3M adhesive on our 3D gel letters, which means their shouldn’t be a risk of them falling off any time soon! We expect our plates to last for several years.
Can I have 3D plates which are tinted or shortened?
You can request for your 3D plates to be shortened, however we do not produce tinted number plates. Tinted plates are not road legal, and displaying them on a vehicle makes you liable to a fine, a failed MOT or in extreme circumstances, the confiscation of the private registration.
